Koula has been a public servant for the past 23 years as a Cook County Assistant State’s Attorney. During her career as a prosecutor, Koula has zealously advocated for criminal justice and for victims of crimes. She prides herself on being fair, ethical and compassionate while holding parties accountable—attributes that she will take to the bench, if elected judge.

Koula has been a resident of the 4th subcircuit for the past 20 years and is actively involved in her community. She is a wife, mother, dog mom and the proud daughter of immigrant parents.

On February 2, 2024, Koula was appointed by the Illinois Supreme Court as a Circuit Court Judge to fill the vacancy of Edward M Maloney.
Ms. Fournier has substantial litigation experience in addition to her more recent experience as an appellate lawyer. She is considered to have good legal ability, and is praised for her temperament.
